Yoga is such a powerful concept. Yoga expands our mental and physical ability to think or to do some work. It makes us more agile. It also teaches us the true meaning of the mind to body connection.
2. To share
Teaching yoga requires a lot of effort. You not only have to learn different skills, you have to work with the people on an emotional, mental and physical level. but you may find it very satisfying to guide someone through this transformative journey of self-discovery.

Taking on the role of a teacher ultimately makes you a student as it teaches you so much about yourself, the world, and others. Being able to help and guide people along their physical and mental journeys through the tool of yoga can be very empowering and enriching. I have learned just as much from my students as they have learned from me and that is a beautiful exchange.
4. To create and meet a like-minded community
Teaching yoga connects you with people who are often on a similar path. When others feel safe and seen, they open up and in that space, growth happens. Not just for them, but for you too. It becomes a shared journey of self-discovery. Always remember: you’re a student just as much as you are a teacher.
5. To travel the world
There are so many places your practice can take you. From big cities to quiet towns, to hostels, hotels, resorts, even yachts and cruise liners there’s always a demand for yoga classes. So if you’re looking to teach, you’ll find opportunities all over the world.

How to become a Certified Yoga Instructor?

Yoga has been around for thousands of years and is practiced by people all over the world. It’s not just about stretching but it’s a practice that nurtures both body and mind. More than anything, it’s a mental and spiritual journey, not just a form of physical exercise.
These days, with more people becoming mindful of their health and wellbeing, the demand for yoga teachers is growing and teacher training is becoming more accessible, too. A yoga course will guide you through the foundations: anatomy, philosophy, meditation, pranayama, and relaxation techniques.
There are different types of training, usually broken down by hours. You start with a 200-hour program, then can go deeper with a 300-hour training. There are also many styles to explore like Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin, Kundalini, Hatha, and Restorative, just to name a few.
Once you’ve completed your training which can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the course you’ll be certified to teach anywhere in the world (as long as it’s Yoga Alliance certified).
Whether you choose to teach online, travel as a nomadic yogi, or keep it close to home, the path is yours to shape.
Costs for a 200-hour training usually range from $1000 to $3000, and 300-hour programs can go from $1000 to $6000 especially if you’re traveling abroad to do it. But what you gain personally, spiritually, and professionally is so much more. It’s not just a certification, it’s a journey into yourself.
Is it Possible to get Yoga Certified Online?

Yes, absolutely. This is actually how some of them did their 200-hour yoga teacher training. Like anything, doing it online has its pros and cons but it worked for some people.
A big pro is that you get to grow in your own space and really settle into your personal practice. There’s no pressure to compare or perform. It removes that showy side that sometimes comes with studio settings. And that’s not what yoga is about. For me, it made it easier to weave the practice and its philosophy into my everyday life, in a much more natural way.
You get to become comfortable with where you are in your practice and really focus on your own journey. At the same time, you’re connecting with like-minded yogis from all over the world—so it becomes a beautiful cultural exchange too.
Tips for traveling as a Yogi:

1. Be adaptable
Sometimes you won’t be in the perfect space and that’s okay. What matters is how you meet the space you’re in. Let it support you. Let it be part of your practice or your teaching. Adjust gently, and let the environment become an extension of your presence.
2. Forget the yoga mat and pack a lightweight towel
Carrying a mat can feel like a hassle, especially when you’re traveling light. But you can either borrow one when I get there or just use a towel or sarong if needed. And if you want something more compact, there are fold-up travel mats that work beautifully too. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
3. Follow your intuition
Trust your gut when it comes to choosing work. Say yes when it feels right, and stay open to whatever the experience brings. It’s all part of the journey.
Becoming a yoga instructor and traveling the world isn’t just a dream. It’s possible, and it’s yours if you want it. One breath, one step, one pose at a time.
Your mat can roll out anywhere.
