Packing smart can make or break your trip. Whether you’re traveling for a weekend getaway or a month-long adventure, having the right essentials ensures a stress-free experience. Here’s a practical list of what every female traveler needs.

1. Cellphone

If you are planning to travel abroad for a long period, then you must have a local SIM card with you. This is very important for your own safety. It is important. but you can only use the local SIM when you have an unlocked cellphone. Instead of an international phone with your carrier, you should opt for a local SIM that will cost you at a much cheaper rate.

2. Portable charger

A portable charger is one of the necessary things to be on your back while traveling alone as a woman. You can’t carry your adapter all the time so it will be very useful for you. Suppose you are out trekking and want to charge your phone, your music speaker, your camera, etc., then a portable charger is best for you.

3. Travel adaptor

If you are planning to visit a foreign country, this item should be on your absolute must-have list. Your items might not be plugged into a foreign outlet, so always be sure to carry this so that you can continue to charge and/or use everything!

4. Headphones

If you’re travelling by a plane, a train, or a bus, then you must carry your headphones to listen to your favourite music or podcasts or to watch any Netflix movie. Especially if you’re planning to stay in a hostel dorm room, no one wants to hear what you are watching in your bed.

5. Portable speaker

If you are a music lover and love to listen to music, then carrying portable speakers makes your journey better. So, bringing one of these is bound to make your days out on the boat, at the beach, or hiking for hours in the jungle more enjoyable.

6. Extra memory cards

Isn’t it super annoying when you’re out for an awesome location and filming the location, getting the best shots, and suddenly your memory card is full? To tackle this type of situation, it is best to carry extra memory cards for making extra memory. By carrying extra on hand, you can start shooting without worrying about space by manually deleting pics to make room.

7. Chargers and cords

While packing your backpack, always make sure that you carry chargers and cords for each device!! It becomes very annoying when you want to charge your device but you have forgotten the charger.

8. Laptop

If you are a digital nomad, a travel blogger, or an influencer, then you know that carrying a laptop is very much important. Suppose you are on a trip and want to update your audience about your trip; then your laptop will be your saviour. However, it also depends on you if you want to carry it or not.

9. Tripod

Again, if you are a travel blogger/vlogger or just enjoy taking photos, then you should carry your tripod with you. If you want to click your aesthetic picture but don’t want to disturb others by asking them, a tripod is a great way to get epic shots.

10. GoPro

If you are planning to go to a beach destination, then you gopro idls must. You can use it while being in the water. Some people also use theirs for everything. But that totally depends on you!

11. GoPro Stick/Waterproof

The next thing on the list is the GoPro mounted on a stick and its waterproof housing. We girls love to take pictures of every moment and this stick will help you to hold on to it as this damn thing is so small. And it is also a sink-proof, meaning if you drop it, it is not gonna sink to the bottom; it floats to the surface! The waterproof housing permits you to go underwater.

12. Camera

The camera is one of my favorite travel accessories! You can click many beautiful pictures with it. But if you don’t have time, then no worries; that’s totally okay. You can still use the new iPhones to take great photos. You can literally take your camera with you everywhere, though. And if you have different lenses for it, you’ll want to make sure you bring the ones you use the most!

13. Drone

A drone is an awesome gadget to have. Imagine you are travelling to one of the aesthetic places and want to shoot a video. With a drone, you will be able to capture beautiful videos and photos from an angle that most can’t. But be careful when using them; research about the country you are going to, as a lot of countries have drone laws. Some countries don’t even permit you in with a drone, so just do your research properly before traveling with one to avoid any fines/penalties.

14. Toothbrush + toothpaste

Hygiene is a really important part, and you should not be leaving without carrying your toothbrush and toothpaste. You can use electric brushes that come with a charger and are easy to take. But if you’re going to use a normal one, then you should look into getting some sustainable brushes like bamboo.

15. SPF/Sunblock

SPF is really important for your skin. Especially when you are traveling because you are outside almost 24/7, exploring. Even if it’s cloudy, you are still getting sun exposure, and protecting your skin is so important. So, put on sunscreen before you go outside, and also apply it on your body, too. Wearing sunscreen does not mean you can’t get tan, for all my tanning goddesses out there. Pack this – and a lot of it! SPF is expensive in Asia, btw! If you are going to be going swimming/snorkeling/diving, though, you should be wearing SPF that is reef-friendly like the below.

16. Moisturizer/serums

If you don’t want to bring all of your serums, at the very least, bring your moisturizer. You should be moisturizing daily, twice a day, to keep that skin hydrated! This is the one of the most important things you should be doing to your skin.
